Cancellation / Rescheduling / Weather Policy

Please note that your tour is NOT a private tour unless a private tour was explicitly booked and paid for.

By purchasing a tour with Dreamland Safari Tours, and checking the mandatory box during an online booking, and/or agreeing to be bound by the cancellation policy during a phone booking, you acknowledge that you have read and fully accept the cancellation & rescheduling policies for your specific tour type listed below. Purchasing a tour with Dreamland Safari Tours makes these policies applicable and binding to you. If you do not agree nor accept these policies, you will not buy seats from Dreamland Safari Tours. If you cannot afford the loss in event of a cancellation, we recommend you buy Cancel-For-Any-Reason Travel Insurance to protect your investment. Dreamland Safari Tours is proud to partner with Global Rescue, an industry leader providing medical and security advisory and evacuation services to travelers around the world.

Should Dreamland Safari Tours cancel a tour or special event due to any reason, you will receive a full refund for any payments already made.

Should you cancel a tour or special event due to any reason, the below terms and conditions apply.

A. Cancellation Fees for Day Tours

30+ days before tour date 15% or future tour credit**
11 – 30 days before tour date 25% or future tour credit**
48hrs – 10 days before tour date 35% or future tour credit**
Less than 48 hours / No Show 100%
All cancellation fees are calculated on the FULL tour price, not just the deposit.

**A Future Tour Credit is a non-expiring, fully transferable credit that may be used at any time in the future towards any tour.

B. Cancellation Fees for Regular & Private Overnight Tours (White Pocket, Toroweap *excluding* special events such as Cody York Workshops):

For special events, see section C below; for regular and private overnight tours, the following applies. Due to the complexity and cost of organizing overnight tours, we have established the following rules around rescheduling and canceling:

30+ days before tour date 15% or future tour credit**
11 – 30 days before tour date 25% or future tour credit**
48hrs -10 days before tour date 35%
Less than 48 hours / No Show 100%
All cancellation fees are calculated on the FULL tour price, not just the deposit.

**A Future Tour Credit is a non-expiring, fully transferable credit that may be used at any time in the future towards any tour.

C. Cancellation Fees for Special Events, Backpacks, and Workshops:

Each year, we host a select number of special events, such as our premium photography workshops with Cody York, guided multi-day backpacking trips, and Wilderness First Responder Courses. Because of the complicated logistics and added costs involving these special events, you must abide by special terms when it comes to cancellations and payment for those events.

A 50% deposit is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance comes due 30 days prior to departure.

Cancellations are subject to an escalating cancellation fee as follows:

91+ days prior to departure $100
61 – 90 days prior to departure 20% of full tour price
31 – 60 days prior to departure 30% of full tour price
8 – 30 days prior to departure 40% of full tour price
48hrs – 7 days prior to departure 70% of full tour price
Within 48 hours 100% of tour price
All cancellation fees are calculated on the FULL tour price, not just the deposit.

Should Dreamland Safari Tours cancel an event due to any reason, you will receive a full refund for any payments already made.

Because of the outside costs involved in these special events, cancellations are NOT eligible for future tour credits. To protect yourself against a financial loss in the event you have to cancel, we highly recommend purchasing Cancel-For-Any-Reason Travel Insurance after locking in your reservation. Dreamland Safari Tours is proud to partner with Global Rescue, an industry leader providing medical and security advisory and evacuation services to travelers around the world. We are looking forward to sharing an adventure with you!

Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance when booking Dreamland Safari Tours adventures, especially if your circumstances dictate it (i.e. sick family members, unpredictable job requirements, hurricane season, etc.). We will not deviate from this our cancellation policy & fees for any reason. Click here to learn more about Travel Insurance or visit Global Rescue to purchase a policy.

A Word on Weather

Although it very rarely happens, we reserve the right to cancel or reroute tours up until the last minute due to weather, safety, or other uncontrollable circumstances. In this case we will try to reschedule, give rain-checks, agree on another more accessible destination, or if necessary give a full refund. For adventures in flash flood prone areas (e.g., Buckskin Gulch) we may choose an alternative destination up until the last minute if weather conditions make it unsafe to adhere to the intended itinerary; such weather-based rerouting does not entitle you to a refund.  If you are booked on a Vermilion Cliffs Tour (i.e., The Wave, South Coyote Buttes, White Pocket, Amazing Sandstone Teepees, Buckskin Gulch) and have chosen our half-way meeting point as your pickup location, please note that unfavorable weather conditions may dictate the need for you to meet in Kanab rather than at Houserock Valley Road North Junction; a change to your pickup location does not entitle you to a refund. Cancellations and reroutes are slightly more likely in Winter.

PLEASE NOTE: Dreamland Safari Tours makes all calls about weather. Unless it is unsafe, we lean towards completing the tour as is for a variety of reasons. We also wait until the last minute to make these calls. We do not speculate on forecasts. If a party should decide to cancel outside of or in advance of our decision making, the standard cancellation policy will apply.

Weapons

While we respect gun laws and your right to keep and bear arms, we ask that you abstain from bringing firearms or other weapons on tour.
